Ariana Mona

Graduate Student

I am Ariana Mona, and I am going into my 5th year in the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology PhD program at Michigan State University (MSU). I received my BS in Neuroscience from MSU in December of 2021. As a graduate student in the Castillo-Ruiz lab, my project investigates how birth mode and microbiota affect brain development. I am also very passionate about undergraduate education in addition to my lab work. To date, I have served as a TA for 7 semesters in the Department of Physiology. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, Hank and Loki, and my husband, Joe.
